The MOSAIC Staff

Charles “charlie” Liu (he/him)
Director of MOSAIC Center for Education and Outreach

charlie (he/him) emigrated from Taiwan to the U.S. He and his partner, Hiya, raise four children—Jonathan, Joanna, Julia, and Josiah—centered on values of empathy, teamwork, advocacy, service, and active learning. A United States Marine Corps veteran with eight years of service, charlie later earned his J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law and his Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) at Michigan State University. His research focuses on dialogic approaches to institutional policies shaping student success nationally and globally. With more than a decade in U.S. higher education, charlie grounds his servant-leadership in building community across diverse backgrounds. Aiming to foster collaboration that advances student success, he is committed to supporting and educating Spartans around intersecting identities. Go Green, Go White!

Nicole Keener (she/her)
Administrative Assistant for MOSAIC Center

Ellie Anders Thompson
Assistant Director for Religious, Spiritual, and Secular Identities

Ellie founded an interfaith dialogue at West Texas A&M with a coffee in one hand, and all the courage she could muster in the other. From her experience grew a desire to  build the pluralism movement and efforts promoting interfaith engagement. Ellie spent 10 years in Utah serving an AmeriCorps VISTA year at Salt Lake Community College, elected as Vice Chair of the Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable, and building a strong foundation of interfaith engagement at the Reflection Center at Utah Valley University. She has had the privilege of being a trainer and mentor for various Interfaith America programs. She organized regional Interfaith Leadership conferences and was honored to be chosen as a Germanacos Fellow where she worked on intergenerational interfaith dialogue. At Dartmouth College, Ellie constructed and renovated the interfaith programs at the William Jewett Tucker Center for Spirituality & Ethics as the MultiFaith Advisor. One of the greatest growth edges for bridge building work is the vast landscape of the public institutions. Her dogs Tex and Bracken and husband Andrew keep her busy as they explore their new home in Lansing.

Lesly Morales (they/them/ella)
Coordinator for Women and Gender Equity

A first-generation college graduate from the vibrant border town of Brownsville, Texas, Lesly earned a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, specializing in Community Governance and Advocacy with a minor in Chicane/Latine Studies. With a strong foundation in student activism, community organizing, and coalition building, Lesly brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Their dedication to equity, social justice, intersectional organizing, advocacy, and restorative justice drives their work, and we are excited to see how they will inspire and empower our student community.

Sharron Reed-Davis (she/her)
Coordinator for Unity Coalition

Sharron Reed-Davis serves as a Coalition Coordinator in the MOSAIC Office of Outreach and Education within Michigan State University’s Student Affairs Division.
